Riot Games boss Nicolo Laurent confirmed that the upcoming Season of League of Legends anime series Arcane isn’t yet ready. The show isn’t scheduled to be released next year. Moreover, it’s uncertain when we will get to see the series in 2024.
Following the huge popularity of the first season as well as winning the Emmy Award for the Animation category, Netflix approved the second season. But, after the confirmation, it’s acceptable to state that we haven’t seen anything regarding the second season.
The Arcane series debuted on the 6th of November, 2021. If they stop this year it will be 2.5 years later than the season.
Laurent told me:
“I watched the third episode of season 2 before I flew to China, so we’re making progress on that. It’s not ready yet, and there are two reasons for that. First, you want quality, you don’t want to rush, and that takes time. So that’s a good reason. Bad reason. But to be honest, we didn’t know if season 1 was going to be a success… If we had known, we could have started season 2 much sooner, but we didn’t know, so we waited a while and now we’re paying the price, so unfortunately it won’t be ready this year.”
